Our strategy: 2025 – 2030

Over the last five years we’ve taken massive steps towards ending the cycle of crisis and crime. We reached over 12,000 people through projects we supported. But progress is fragile, and the need for bold, system changing solutions is greater than ever.
That’s why we’re building on this momentum.

“Too often, the doors to help have been shut in our faces while the doors to crisis and crime stay wide open. That’s why we are proud to have worked on this strategy, not just to tell our stories, but to make sure people like us are at the heart of real change.”
– Lived Experience Advisory Panel (the LEAP)
Our new five-year strategy is an ambitious plan to dismantle the revolving door for good, tackling the root causes and amplifying lived experience leadership at every level.
Our vision

People are free from cycles of crisis and crime, reaching their potential in a happier, healthier and fairer society.
Our mission

We will promote long-term solutions that tackle the root causes of the ‘revolving door’ by amplifying the voices and expertise of people who have experienced cycles of crisis and crime.
Our values

We believe in the ability of individuals, services and systems to change.

We value the diverse knowledge, expertise and potential of people closest to the issues and solutions.

We are ambitious for wholesale change.
Over the next five years we will work with our members and trusted partners to:

● Break cycles of exclusion and hopelessness by focussing on prevention and diversion
● Break cycles of distrust and stigma by promoting empathy and empowerment
● Break cycles of siloed, short-term fixes by promoting joined-up, sustainable solutions.
● Break cycles of low self-esteem and confidence with opportunities to build pride and progress.
In 2025, the urgency to address the cycle of crisis and crime has never been greater. England and Wales are grappling with a record-high prison population. Short prison sentences – often handed to those with unmet health, social, and economic needs, the ‘revolving door’ group are perpetuating cycles of reoffending rather than breaking them.

This strategy is the result of a collaborative effort. Co-produced with our lived experience members, it is shaped by the insights and expertise of those who have experienced the very systems we seek to transform.
This five year strategy builds on our past successes while recognising the need for bold action to address the root causes of the revolving door and drive meaningful change.
