Speaking at the LDAN/DrugScope conference
I recently attended the 2011 London Drug and Alcohol Network (LDAN)/DrugScope conference ‘Capital Concerns – the future for drug and alcohol services’ on 9 March.
This was a very interesting conference addressing the problems drug and alcohol services are facing right now, with all the cuts being made.
I had to put my ‘service user hat’ on, as I was lucky enough to be a member of the Service User Panel discussing “Barriers to recovery” faced by service users in drug and alcohol services. A few of the points made were on the importance of family support and the extra challenges faced by female service users who were bringing up children.
