2012-10 Response to Ministry of Justice consultation, Punishment and Reform – Effective Community Sentences (2)

Summary
Revolving Doors welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the government’s review of community sentences. We strongly support the use of community sentences as they are proven to be more effective than short prison sentences at reducing reoffending (MOJ, 2011b, p.16) and allow offenders to retain contact with the support networks and services which can help to address the factors contributing to their offending.
