Zahra Wynne
Policy & Research Associate
Zahra is our former Policy Manager. She now works with us as a Policy & Research Associate, primarily on the Lived Experience of the Law project, alongside her own freelance career.
Before joining Revolving Doors, Zahra worked for Clinks on health and criminal justice policy and development. She spent over two years in India working for a grassroots human rights organisation, advocating for reproductive rights and documenting the experiences of Rohingya refugees in India.
“The best thing about working for Revolving Doors is embedding lived experience in everything we do. Whether it’s working with our lived experience members to give evidence to parliamentary inquiries, working with journalists to have our members tell their stories and stand up for change, or bringing in officials to design and deliver specific policies and programmes with our members – we are nothing without our lived experience members, and working alongside them everyday makes this role worthwhile. Ultimately, I want to strive for a fairer criminal justice system that rehabilitates rather than punishes, and to stop people getting caught up in the system due to poverty, trauma, problematic substance use and poor mental health.”
